Job Summary 

Under general supervision of the HR Business Partner, Director, the Employee Relations Consultant will perform a variety of Human Resources professional level duties with a heightened focus on Employee Relations. This includes supporting leaders and employees with conflict resolution, performance management, and guiding the development of disciplinary and performance documents for a high-volume Operations/non-exempt organization while ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable laws.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Acts as a point of contact for employees and manager, providing guidance and support on employee relations matters such as performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution
  • Investigates and recommends appropriate action in high-volume, moderately complex associate complaints, issues and concerns
  • Provides guidance to leaders on the progressive discipline process, consulting on when to issue progressive discipline documents, for issues including, but not limited to addressing performance gaps, conduct concerns, and other management concerns
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations
  • Maintains accurate and confidential records of employee relations cases and report trends or recurring issues to HR Business Partner
  • Identifies risk on employment matters and partners with manager as appropriate
  • Provides counsel and guidance to managers and associates regarding company policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Principles, practices, and procedures of human resources administration associated with exposure to employment law policy and practice.
  • Microsoft Office Suite required and Workday experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • A minimum of 3 years of HR generalist experience
  • Must have knowledge of labor laws including ADA and FLSA laws
  • Must have HR disciplinary reporting and documentation experience
  • Must be familiar with hourly pay employee performance management
  • Communicate effectively with all levels within the organization.
  • Practice and promote integrity and ethical behavior.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload in a fast-paced environment with changing deadlines.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communications skills.
  • Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to all issues.
  • Keep all appropriate parties up to date on decisions, changes, and other relevant information.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources Management, Organizational Behavior Studies or a related field and a minimum of 3 years of HR generalist experience

 

This is the pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position: $25.86/hour - $34.48/hour
